SILA

“SILA is a concert project that reflects my journey as an artist. It brings together my identity as a classical pianist and my roots, while also serving as an artistic tool through which I continue to search for my own voice—a voice that allows me to be free, push boundaries and question deeply held beliefs.”

SILA brings to life the process of developing an individual artistic language, while also exploring questions about home, belonging and finding one’s place within oneself.

SILA makes inner processes such as doubt, transformation and growth tangible, showing how a distinct artistic identity can emerge from a variety of influences. The project understands identity as something dynamic that continues to evolve.

The musical programme combines works from the Western classical repertoire and contemporary Turkish compositions with traditional Turkish folk songs performed by Nihan Devecioğlu. Visual art forms—including calligraphy, visual projections and interviews with the women who have accompanied Lal on her journey—offer another way to experience the process of finding one’s identity.

SILA is for people going through a period of personal or artistic change. It aims to inspire audiences to shape their own paths consciously and to see the development of an individual voice as a creative process.
